What is Engineered Stone?
Unlike natural stone countertops that are cut from granite, marble or sandstone – engineered stone is made from quartz crystals held together with a resin binder. Quartz is one of the hardest minerals on earth (next to diamond, sapphire and topaz.) and does not require sealing since it’s non porous.
Why is it a good choice?
Strong, durable, and attractive – engineered stone is very consistent in look and pattern. It’s heat-resistant and does not accumulate bacteria or mold. The surfaces are easy to maintain, and they are non-absorptive and resistant to heat.
Is it affordable?
Yes. Engineered stone gives you consistent performance and a long, long lifetime – creating lasting value. You’ll spend the same or less than you would for many natural stone slabs and solid surface materials. Consider this example: for years many contractors were specifying white marble with no veins, which looks great but is extremely expensive. Now we can get that pristine white look with engineered stone, which looks exactly the same as marble side by side, but don’t cost nearly as much.
